I found Staplehurst Golf Centre to be very friendly. They have a comfortable club house serving a good selection of food. Pleasant changing facilities, with the use of a shower. The Pro shop is well equipped, all this is supported with a lovely 9 hole course, I would reconmend a round.

The practice facilities here were great, the driving range had mechanical tees, an automatic video bay and a rusty old car to aim at to add to the fun.
The clubhouse was small but friendly and very welcoming.
The course however was very poor. It was wide enough for beginners to get round without losing too many balls, but the teeing areas and in particular the greens were truly awful, so bad they were almost unplayable.
I have also played on many courses in the UK and beyond and this course was comfortably the worst I've played on.

Played the course at the end of June whilst visiting relatives. This is a newish 9 hole course and will benefit from maturing. I had a very enjoyable time playing 18 holes, few hazards, course is being up graded. Just enjoyed hitting the ball for a few hours in the Kent sunshine. Club house small with limited facilities, however made very welcomed afterwards by staff and members.

Following the recent rainfall, the general condition of the course is much improved. The greens are however still less than good on a couple of the holes. This is an easy, forgiving course, which is great for beginners and improvers. The greeting is warm and friendly and unpretentious - the green fee can even include a free pint if you go at the right time of day! The driving range is very good, which includes a mechanical feeder system for the balls.

Staplehurst G.C is the ideal course for a beginner. The holes are not taxing or over long, and there are few hazards on the course by way of bunkers, water hazards or deep rough.
The course offered a friendly welcome, and pricing was reasonable. Facilties for changing were limited, and no food was available. Good driving range and practice putting green.
Course condition was very poor, with greens that bordered on the unplayable due to poor maintenance and lack of water.
Some of the tees were completely hacked up, and I was surprised that it was considered a beautiful course.
Staplehurst offered no memorable holes at all, and a redesign to most of the course allied with some water and care would work wonders. The only defence it could offer to the better player was some blind shots, and some completely unpredicable bounces on the greens that could be not be played for as the consistency of each green varied.
Sorry Staplehurst, but of the 400 plus courses I've played around the world, you have to be the worst by some way.
