Alnmouth Village Golf Club Player Reports
David Wilkinson (England) 09/07/06
Played 18.6.06. 8 superb traditional links' holes with some shared fairways and few bunkers plus one par 4 requiring an accurate uphill drive onto a plateau then a 2nd shot to a raised green. Lovely sea views from there south to Coquet Island. Forever a closed sign on the first tee which seems to be ignored. Our day spoiled by 2 members using the back of the 5th tee box as a toilet in front of my 12-yr-old daughter, walked in. On Wednesdays, the lady captain does not like men driving at her ladies on misty days which occur regularly on this part of the coast, so call in advance to ensure a time. Excellent greenkeeper, steward and clubhouse. Best of all is the ice cream van located in the beach car park alongside the 2nd hole, best ice cream in the County.

Although this is only a relatively short 9 hole course and not terribly demanding,it is set in the most fantastic setting right along the beach-true links style golf. You will certainly enjoy a knock around here.
