I havent played the hotel course for twenty odd years. For myself and Kenny it was OUR course, more than six cars in the car park and we would panic. The hotel course, unlike the West course is quite short but tricky enough with dodgy hollows and lies.Yes, a challenge and very picturesque.

A absolute gem of a course, one of the most beautifull settings you can imagine, always quiet, always fun, but its bloody tough with narrow fairways and lightning greens, well worth a round.

Have now played this course several times, usually in the rain.
An absolute gem. Every hole a fantastic challenge. Beware the trees and wildlife and people walking their dogs.
Well worth a visit – especially as 2fore1 vouchers make it a £12 round. Best value course in the country perhaps?

Sadly the old hotel is to be knocked down. For many years we (The Singing Smiths or Monday Night Boys) spent some fantastic times there. We shall miss it. If any of your readers are interested we have created a web site themondaynightboys.co.uk which takes an irreverent look at those weekends and pays tribute to the staff and mangement of the hotel...Sorry to see you go

The course was in very reasonable condition, considering the amount rain that has fallen recently. The greens, although not that fast, had many subtle breaks and borrows, it made chipping and putting very interesting. Will certainly be returning in the spring. The hotel is currently closed therefore we were unable to enjoy a drink after our enjoyable round.

This is an excellent little course. Always easy to get on at weekends (so far!), it is quite short but subtle. With lots of humps and hollows, and tiny greens, this requires a really imaginative short game. The best hole is probably the 14th, but there is lots of interest throughout. And it is surrounded by the most magnificent wooded countryside.
