Have lived within 1 mile of this private members club for 31 years but have never played there, until today. It may not be worth waiting 31 years for but it's not far off. A splendid parkland course with excellent, although maybe a little slow, greens. A great variety of holes which punish errant shots and reward accuracy and length off the tee. At £40.50 it's not cheap and although never rude or aggressive, the atmosphere was a little traditional for my liking. However this did not deminish the excelleny golf club that is just a 10 minute walk from my front door. It wont be another 31 years till i play there again.

Played here in March using the Daily Telegraph open fairways scheme(£20 each).A very pleasant established course in excellent condition.Greens were really good for the time of year & the fairways lush.No slopes or hills to speak of but that doesn't detract .All holes treelined .Would play here again.

A very pleasant course to play. Has recently been made easier by the removal of some trees though is still quite tight. Two relatively short par 5s that give birdie opportunities are made up for by some long par 4s and a 234 yard par 3.
The greens are slow but true and easy to put on. There are no hidden borrows and the best line is usually straight.
The rough is punishing. The condition of the bunkers is moderate without much sand.

An extremely under-estimated test of golf. Secluded in an urban area this Club is fantastic. Not long by modern standards, the course requires precise strokes to be navigated successfully. Small greens and tight fairways ensure accurate play is a must. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Mature parkland course which celebrated it's centenary year in 1998. It is said that you can find at least one example of every native variety of tree from the British Isles on this course.
Was in great condition when I played. Fast true greens, two long par fours and two short par fives which can be reached with good second shots.
Signature hole would have to be the par 3 twelfth which is some 235yds from the back tees. A real monster if the wind is in your face.
Recently refurbished spike bar, with the whole complex offering a generally very welcoming atmosphere.
