What a joke, this course was disgusting. I booked two 4 balls through Teetimes and also went onto their website. There was no mention of damaged greens (16 out of the 18 cannot be played on), only when we had turned up. Some of my friends had travelled 60+ miles to play. Also the clubhouse etc is being refurbished, so the facilities were a portakabin (again not mentioned). I was embarrased to have recommended this course to my friends. I can safely say we will not return, nor should anybody else. If the club had asked for £5.00 it would have been too much, but to charge £12.00!!!!

very very disappointed...played here...tuesday 11th march 2008....now i know the greens have been sabbotaged..yes every one has had some type of weed killer on the grass..i know that we are still classed as been in the winter season...but i played here with a friend and the whole course is attrocious...bunkers half filled with sand...fairways..unkempt.. we had temp green and temp tees on every hole...now as i said before we played in winter, but then to charge me £12 for a round of golf..( played with a member) was a bit of a joke really....yet again non members of golf courses expected to supplement the green fees...... i thought when the staff in the pro shop took my money he looked a little embarrased.wont be playing here for a while....the course is a little bland too...not much in the way of hazard..

Well, what can I say about this course!?

Beautiful fairways, greens and scenery. A test for golfers of all standards but not too daunting for beginners either. I recently returned to the game after an 8 year lay off due to illness so I was a little rusty to say the least but after a couple of holes everything dropped into place. This was aided by the forgiving nature of the first hole. This said I did lose 5 balls during my round!

Given the recent bad weather this course is very well drained and I only encountered a couple of patches of standing water. Bunkers, rough and trees are all well looked after and for £18 weekday it is not beyond my meagre means. I will definitely play this course again in the future and would recommend the course to anybody.

ps if you find my balls they are yours!

Played this course for the 1st time 4 weeks ago and been back every week after that. For 25pounds at the weekend it is great value for money. The course is nice and flat and every hole is as good as the rest. The par 3 8th is a good par 3 if you dont select the right club your ball will go for a wash closely watched by the heron. The 15th hole is a nice short par 4 259 yards but it will look shorter choose your club wisely. The greens look flat in places but dont trust your eyes the ball turns when you dont expect it to tho they are fast. Play this course if you havent already you will not be disappointed.

I played this course a while ago now and was delighted by the condition of it i had no gripes at all. The cost i felt was value for money, a par 73 for £15 cant be bad!

I thought the greens were especially good rolling fast and true.

In responce to the comment about the staff continuing to cut would you rather play to an evenly cut green and guarantee the speed being the same, or play to an unevenly cut one. Im prepared to wait the five minutes it takes while the staff do the job we'd all moa about were it left. Perhaps im slightly biased with previous experience working on a course but...

Well I must say that i wasnt holding out too Much Promise after hearing a few bad reports about this course going down hill... But then i spoke to a few People who said it was bouncing back due to new ownership.. so i took the plunge to play it.. 1st Impressions are very Good, I often use the driving Range here which is good value at around £1.50 for 50 odd balls.. The Course Is Dangerous with Very Heavy Rough Lining the Now Decent fairways.. The 8th is probably the Signature hole which is a lovely par 3 guarded by a nice Pond/Rockery in front of the green.. there is a Decent amount of Semi Rough to catch the slightly off target shot, but anything more off target and you`ll do well to recover.. which makes it a real Test.. One very Big Positive is the Greens, these are in suberb condition and play much faster than Any greens ive played on before.. making putting a great Challenge... My Only Disapointment during the round was that the Greenkeeping staff seamed Oblivious to the fact that people were trying to play golf while they was working... having to wait 5 mins for a lwan cutter to finish before you can play is not fun... why not pull to the side and let people through?? this is what other courses do? On the Whole at £15 per round and No Discount schemes it could be considered slightly expensive for this area.. but its a good course and one id love to play again... The new Airport has just opened so you get to see the planes coming in and out which adds to the Scenery..

This course has just been taken over by a new owner club house.

Staff were delightful - however DO NOT PLAY here for 12 months. Fairways there were none I

I found my self aiming for the semi rough just to find grass greens moderate, tees well mmmmmmm.

Decent long course but has been abused by previous owner. So leave it alone for a while is my advice. you will be disapointed.

Recent course improvements include addition of a number of strategically placed fairway pot bunkers, making club selection off the tee an important factor where before it was driver every time. This adds spice to the previously straightforward short holes, the par4 12th and (especially)13th. Do you have a go or lay up short? Seek the reward of a short pitch and real birdie chance, or risk the sand and perhaps an embarrasing 6?

At present the course improvements are very recent (the pond needs more work) and it may take a season for the scars to settle and the turf to grow. New sand in the bunkers make them a joy for a change!

Cutting of the fairways and the semi-rough are varied and sometimes imaginative. Some are cut tight. Others appear more generous - but the bail-out areas don't always give the best line.

The long (618 yd)par 5 16th and 474 yd par 4 7th are a little too long for me off the back tees, but shorten to 553 and 395 yds to make more realistic challenges off the yellow tees.

Whilst there may be few dramatic features, apart from the pond in front of the par 3 17th, the course requires thought and a tactical approach to score low. The wrong line (even with a well struck drive in the fairway)will often leave your approach blocked by trees.

Quiet and remote, nothing apart from the clubhouse) but fields and trees on the horizon at any point on the course. At weekends the members all seem to play in the morning. In the evening the course is all but empty, peaceful, totally relaxing.

Best hole? Possibly par 4 (373yd) 18th, narrow green protected by trees front right requiring a drive down the tight left side of the fairway to give a line in. Or par 5 (498yd) 5th, try (and probably fail) to carry a ditch on the second shot or lay up safe but leave a blind 8/9 iron approach off an up-and-sidehill lie.

A long course with little in the way of features. This course is all about distance - if you can hit it long you'll have a good day! I wouldn't recommend this course is played in winter though as the temporary greens are very poor. Good, friendly clubhouse available.

Some difficuilt holes, 10 holes over 400 yards with ditches out of bounds and fairway bunkers make you think from the tees.

618 yard par 5 7th tests the best for distance a course planner at 50p was the best buy of the day. On our visit the greens were very good, all round a good day out that golfers of all handicaps could get something out of...... Worth a visit.
