wow, the best £15 you will spend! Having previously played the grove and the brabazon, the greens here are comparible and a tenth of the price. The course is just fun to play, set in some beautiful country side with some great holes, the 2nd being the feature hole. It is not too tough, and ideal for those mid to high handicappers. I could not recommend this course enough and am now considering joining

Have to say that this course is gradually becoming a favourite haunt for autumn / winter. The lads don't like it much but the total lack of trees worth their name is of major significance for me.

These upland courses, and I include Bingley St Ives and Branshaw, have a certain appeal perhaps its the years of fell walking in my youth. Whatever, they are a joy to play unless the wind is howling and the rain is horizontal - then it is just a challenge.

Baildon is not long or overly difficult (if you can play out of heather that is) but has some attractive looking drives, stunning views and a reasonable variety of holes including finishing with the only 2 par 5's.

At £13 midweek it is also as cheap as the Leeds Municipals. Excellent value and I will be their on a regular basis this winter.

I enjoyed playing Baildon - it was a warm afternoon with a light breeze and by early evening all the stories about this being a tough course just didn't seem true. On top of the moor, the views are spectacular and there's hardly a tree to worry about. But the rough - gorse and heather - is waiting to grab any ball that strays from the fairways. Those who play here regularly know what can happen when the wind blows hard and the rain is sheeting down. So the advice is - play here when the weather is calm....unless you want a real rest of your golfing skills and patience.

If you manage to play baildon in good weather, it will be an enjoyable and scenic experience with many nice holes. If wind or rain is on the cards be prepared for a hard slog even for the hardiest of golfers. Some if not most of the fairways are very difficult to hold when a breeze is assisting the lie of the land you can see your what was a perfect drive land nicely on the fairway then shoot 30 yards or so into the rough. So if a real challenge is what you want baildon in less then perfect weather can provide you just that. Food however in the 19th is consistantly good and plentiful with good and pleasent service. A friendly club who are always very accomodating.

Very interesting hilly moorland course with excellent greens. Most holes played

either up or downhill which makes judgement of distance difficult especialy

if windy. Very open course with no trees but with beautiful views of the valley.

Some very nice holes including the short par 3 2nd, 11th short par4 and 15th

long downhill par4. Well worth playing at any time
