In relation to the 9hole PAR3 course(8xpar3 plus 1 par4), I have found it a very useful facility for playing golf during the winter months. My society normally play a couple of winter par3 events in our closed season. The greens are normally in good condition for a course that will get the full cross section of golfers(apart from unrepaired pitch marks), and are particularly challenging in the summer if you get on the wrong side of the hole. The 7th hole although short wouldn't be out of place on the main course.

I had heard poor views on the club and course after it moved to the new site some years ago. Decided to play the nine hole course one weekday afternoon on a 2 for 1 special offer they are promoting.
First impressions were poor since I was met by the sight of two bare chested golfers (unfortunately male) who were hacking their way over the course. I'm not a real stickler for dress code, but there is a limit!
The nine hole was one of the oddest course. For a new club with plenty of land this layout was odd with the holes playing in a straight out and back format, but with distance between each green and the next tee. Seemed pointless, and a few more variations in the length of holes would have made it far more enjoyable. There was only one hole with any sort of hazard and then the final hole played a par 5, so you pitch all the way 1 to 8 and then get the driver out?
After playing with some fairly disgruntled Beds GC members on a corporate day I can see why they are so disapointed.

i played on this course this weekend gone and found it to be a reasonably easy golf course but with a few suprises thrown in the fairways and greens were in superb condition. The only downside to this lovely golf course is its prices ar 40 pounds per round it is certainly overpriced

Having played many golf courses through my profession I have to comment that The Bedfordshire is a very poorly designed one. The holes are designed for lush well maintained ground conditions which I am afraid to say is never going to be the case. There is ne definition between holes, you can knock the ball anywhere. And on some holes aiming 200 yards off your intended fairway to let your ball roll from the contours to get back to your fairway is the only way to play the hole. Not a biased review just an honest one.

As a member of the club,my view may be slightly biased. However, having played a number of courses I would say that this course is excellent value for anybody wishing to play a testing golf course. It is a huge improvement on the old course. The club prides itself on being friendly and has made a huge investment in the facilities and design of the course. This together with the splendid views and holes that play differently each round make it an enjoyable and challenging course for golfers at all levels.

Situated on an escarpment offering magnificent views from all parts of the course, this modern course is already amongst the finest in the county, with facilities to match.
