A good public course in a nice setting of woods. The front 9 is generally open with some nice holes. The back 9 is in the woods and has trees bordering the holes. The 12th is a monster, a par 3 with a bunker running across the fairway in front of the green which has trees behind and at the edges. I reccomend playing in summer rather than winter because the fairways in winter are bare, especially on the back 9 where little sun gets through to the fairways in winter, meaning bare fairways. The greens are good but the off-course facilities are lacking a bit.

Belfairs can be a little hit and miss condition-wise as when it`s dry, the ball will bobble about and may end up in trees when it wasn`t heading there, and when it`s wet, you can lose your ball on the fairways. But, for the average golfer in decent conditions, it is quite a challenging course.
After a straight, 145yd par 3 opener, holes 2,3 and 4 are fabulous for the classic social golfer, doglegging right slightly at around 150yds, allowing those natural fades to come to the fore.
It is almost like playing 2 courses as you head into the woods for the back nine after a very open front 9. However, the impression that the treelines give you tends to be a little misleading as the fairways are wider than they look.
Despite its` flat nature, the course has ripples right the way through it meaning you very rarely get a flat lie, turning a short shot into one that is far more challenging than it looks!!!
Good value for money is an advantage at this course as it is several pounds cheaper than anywhere in the vicinity.
All in all, very pleasant indeed.

Is a very enjoyable course where you can achieve your best score or your worst score. The front 9 is a typical parkland course with some quite challenging holes, and others where you can really open your shoulders and go for it. The back 9 is where it gets really tough as you weave your way through thick woods, distance is not a problem but if you go anywhere other than straight you'll find the only option you'll have is to chip out to the fairway (if you're lucky). For a public course this really is in great condition, i expected the fairways to be torn to pieces and the greens to be badly damaged yet the fairways are in decent nick and the greens are among the finest i've played, both true and quick. It is possible to book up to a week in advance (recommended) but you can also phone up on the day (start phoning at 6am to get a tee time you want). It costs £17 to play at the weekends and represents excellent value for money and i've played here several times now. I would recommend this course to everyone.

Nearly everyone who plays a round of golf at Belfairs appreciates the parkland setting and the interesting lay-out. But it's a public course so bookings are necessary, especially in the Summer. It's often impossible to just turn up and play without getting a starting time. But don't let that put you off playing a course with excellent greens and a back nine which goes through spectacular woodland scenery.

Played this course in April and it will take a couple of months to dry out. When it does however this offers many challenges to golfers of even high standard. A little expensive, but worth a go

I thought this course was well worth playing..
It seems to have most challenges... but mostly it has TREES, Loads of them and most of the time narrow fairways so no fades!!!
Generally well worth a vist, good value but only down side was that I found dog owners liked to visit it often too!!!!!
