Played here midweek January 07 .
An okay parkland course although there wasn't too much to get excited about here.
Welcoming & helpful pro. On the day we played it there was a "work in progress " feel to it.I would guess that it doesn't drain particularly well either as despite not having rained for at least 5 days before the visit there were lots of tee mats in operation ( 2 mats were at least 80 yards ahead of the proper teeing areas) & the greens were still wet underfoot.
Through the green the rough was a bit patchy & the ball was sometimes muddy or sitting on a bare patch. Also,a couple of the fairways hadn't been cut leaving no definition.
Greens were smallish & there were quite a few breaky 6 footers.
Looking back there weren't many memorable holes & for me it didn't have that classy feel.

Played it during good weather in the evening for at a very good rate of £19. The first is the hardest hole on the course going uphill and dog legging to the right. The 3rd is a lovely hole and the 4th is a true stunner when you stand on the tee with superb views. After that it plays as quite a flat course but a lot of approach shots are tricky with several two-tier greens to look out for. The greens were very fast and the pins were tucked away when we played but we enjoyed our game since the course was not very busy. The practice facilities were excellent.

Played the course on 18th September on a society day.
Although there was another society in addition to ours, the course was not overly busy - which is a bonus.
Course was not very long - but it is tricky. There are lots of blind holes. Get a course planner.
Course was in good condition despite the long dry spell. Greens were difficult to judge for pace.
Great views of Box Hill and surrounding countryside. Severe up hill walk to get to first tee but not too many awkward lies on the course itself.
Nice big practice area in front of a modern club house. Good food.

Excellent course has really come in in the past year. The greens are difficult so the approach play has to be accurate. The course is in very good condition - you have to aim at markers at some holes and the views across the countryside are stunning on a clear day.
The staff are welcoming and food excellent. I would recomment this course for a day out.

Several different society packages are available, with flexibility in menu and playing format. Large societies can be granted exclusive use of the course.
The new secretary is Bob Weeds, who will be pleased to hear from you.
