Beverley and East Riding Golf Club Player Reports

This really is a course with a distinct and unique feel. Yes it is busy on a summers day and you do get a few idiots who decide to have a picnic next to a green or park up right beside the fairway and then shout abuse when you nearly hit them with a slightly wayward drive.
Don't let this put you off. This really is a course well worth playing with some challenging blind drives, difficult par 3's and a real feel of being in and around a natural setting. The cows on the fairways are a real feature.
Most of all I congratulate the club for having a decidedly sensible policy towards juniors. It only cost me £3 each for them to play a round last summer - and that was on a weekend. I didn't ask what the midweek fees were! You can't get fairer than that and I wished some other clubs would take note.

I have to respond to the previous comment about the course being nice despite cows and people all ove rit. The course is on open land, the Westwood, which is a wonderful part of the world where men and nature live side-by-side. It is wonderful for walking dogs, flying kites, having a picnic, and amaziongly enough, the good people of Beverley have consented to having a golf course on one side of it. Really, if you want a course without interruption then Beverley is not the one for you, but if you want to play golf as nature intended then Beverley is great. Personally I find the odd cow wandering about to be rather nice.

A beautiful course with views over Beverley Minster and Racecourse. The course is on common land which gives it a unique atmosphere and gives you the feeling that you are enjoying the surroundings with other users of the land.
The par 69 course itself is challenging by its undulations and general design rather than by its length and hazards. It covers a large area and its meadow grass greens are excellent.
