Blackmoor Golf Club Player Reports

Very good course, not the longest but it doesnt need to be. Irons and 3 woods off some tees leave long approaches to small undulating targets. Greens were good and the setting is very pleasent indeed. Trees and heather a plenty to snarl you up. Its great fun and a lovely setting. Well worth a visit if you're in the area

In the early 1980's, whilst living in Milland for several years I generally played at Liphook, occassionaly at Old Thorns and recall playing twice at Blackmoor.
Reading the previous messages I would also agree that the course offers a consideraable challenge and is weel presented.
I was impressed by the new clubhouse and the range of ecellent stock in the pro shop.
This area aroung the three (Surrey, Hampshire and Sussex) border has a mecca of excellent golf courses all of which are well presented, pictorial and offer a challenge to golfers of all grades.
I enjoyed my time there.

This course is superb. On every hole it is more important to go for position rather than length, and be prepared for irons off the tee. An errant tee shot leaves no shot to the green on many holes so your short game needs to be top notch. All the par 3's are a severe challenge where hitting the green is no guarantee of par. Overall it needs a good day to keep to your handicap.

Easily one of the best courses in Hampshire. A lovely heather course with trees surrounding every hole. The course is quite short but tight, and you don't want to be having a bad day or you will find yourself loosing many balls. Well worth playing and has great members and facilities.

Stand on the first tee at Blackmoor and two things strike you, firstly this is what golf should look like and secondly you had better hit the ball reasonably straight. Tree lined fairways and rough made from pure pink flowering heather make this a tough cousre if you stray from the fairways.
They play the Hampshire county championship here and its no wonder why. After your first round here, sitting on the sundrenched clubhouse balconey watching people struggle up the 18th you'll be thinking, how soon can I return, what are the property prices like and how soon can I join.
A true gem only rivalled by North Hants and West Byfleet in Hampshire.

Blackmoor is simply the best course in Hampshire.Don't let the first few holes lead you into thinking this is going to be easy, from the 4th on you will find out what a good test of golf this course is. Always in good condition and pleasing on the eye, find the time to play Blackmoor you will want to return.
