Burnham-on-Crouch Golf Club Ltd Player Reports
Alan Cooke (England) 15/07/08
We played this course last weekend in a mixed open and really enjoyed everything about it (apart from the round taking nearly 5 hours - this unfortunately is not uncommon for this type of event!).
Apparently we were lucky in that the wind wasn't too strong, which is a feature of the course.
The course was varied and a good test of golf. Despite being on the river Crouch, it was quite hilly which gives rise (sorry about the pun) to some very tricky and interesting approach shots. Playing for a second or third time would definately produce better scores.
I would recommend this course to all, although high handicap players could struggle.
As we were playing an open, I cannot comment properly about the 'value for money' in the attached score, as I do not know what the green fees are, so I have rated it as 7.

Visited Burnham with 30 friends/colleagues. We were made very welcome and provided with everything that we had arranged. The course was in excellent condition and was a true test of golf for all participants. With the "gale" blowing (a member described it as a "mere 2 club breeze")some had problems. One player -8 handicap - lost 3 balls with his first 3 shots in a scramble. It might be a little short but was great fun, good value for money, and I will certainly try to return soon.

A superb course with spectacular views of the river crouch. The course is a real test of golf with excellent greens.
Play it and you won't be disapointed, green fees very reasonable too.
