This is my home course and certainly provides a decent challenge for golfers of all abilities. With some excellent par 3's (especially #9 and #10) an interesting par 5 where you take a 6 iron off the tee (#5) and some challenging 450+ yard par 4's (#13 and SI 1 #16).
The greens are pretty true and fast, although got a bit bumpy toeards the end of the summer with high traffic, especially with £15 twighlight offer proving very popular.
3 temporary greens and 3 temp tees were in play last weekend (5th Jan) but the course was in very good condition considering the amount of rain we have had recently.
Club house is extremely welcoming and the bar serves a great pint of Guiness and some decent value food.

Good things first:
We had an enjoyable round, played to handicap, went round in under 3 hours (just) and a half on the last ensured the match was shared.
Some interesting holes offering a variety of challenges. Fairways in good condition.
Bad things:
A few greens were shocking, one with a severe case of alopaecia!
Tees often too close to a green, taken to the extrem on the 9th Green, where the Tee shot from the 1st goes over your head!
An enjoyable experience but one I am unlikely to repeat.

Friendly welcome,Good opening drive but uninteresting first 2 holes. The rest of the course was in good condition with some great holes all of them reachable with reasonable drives.
Yes I would play it again

Bushey Hall is the friendliest course in Herts, the barstaff are brilliant, always helpfull and wiling to go that extra mile to satisfy.More course and clubs should remember that not only the course need to be right but also the 19th,the members also seem to be a good bunch and the course itself makes you use every club in the bag, thanks for a great day out, much appreciated

Played this course on Sunday afternoon and was impressed. I thought that there were some great holes and some rather more mundane holes. I totally agree with the previous comment on the 5th hole. I took a look at the hole, read the advice on the tee, totally ignored it as the hazard doesn't look that far...and paid the price. I guess you could carry it but advice is definately to lay up! A very strange hole! Thought that a few holes on the back nine were a bit ropey but all in all a very nice course to which I will certainly return.

Dont let the handbag ststements put you off from playing this long established and well maintained course. The greens are simply superb!! Having played most of the courses in Hertfordshire this year, these are by far the best greens - fast, true, gently undulating, and usualy in perfect condition.
This course also provides a good tactical test of golf. Irons are the order of the day on all but a few holes, and you only have yorsef to blame if you don't make a good score.
Holes of note are - the 1st - a long par 4 dog leg left to a small target - the 5th - a bizarre short par 5 which instructs you to lay up with a short iron infront of the ornamental hazard about 210 yards down the fairway - dont be fooled into ignoring the instructions, the hole is very tight and I carry the ball a long way off the tee and I have never taken the driver again - the 9th and 10th - which are beautifull par 3's, each distinctive fom the other - these holes are worth the visit alone and rank alonside any in the county - and the 18th - a good finishing hole which plays a mid iron and an 8 or 9 to an uphill target which lies infront of the clubhouse and next to pond with a fountain.
The welcome is professional and extreemely friendly.
And of all the courses I have played this is not one to miss.
