i have played here for the last 10 years and can honestly say enjoyed it, but i do now think cannock park are pricing themselves out of the market.
i paid £14.50 last weekend and although the fairways and greens were in very good condition everywhere other than fairway was utter wilderness and with blind holes you have no chance of finding your ball.
all birmingham courses are much cheaper, challenging and better kept so if you dont mind travelling a little further worth the money

Played here mid Jan 06 & was very disappointed to find that ALL tees were off mats due to repair, & ALL greens were winter greens. As such, even though only £10.50, I would rather have played elsewhere for the money. The greens were stuck in front of the normal greens & hole put anywhere. Not treated, so its like putting on a fairway ! That said, once new tees are done & when greens are in use, it looks like fantastic value for money, although holes are quite close together. The greens themselves did look in fantastic condition & we have said we will try again in the spring & hope we'll be playing off proper tees & on real greens !

Been playing this course for years and have to say it holds up well during winter. Good value for money and some very testing if short holes. Would be nice if things like yardages on tees, availability of litter bins would be more in abudance. Nevertheless I would dare anyone to say that the course is not enojoyable especially the back nine (although be warned you can't play back nine first the course layout means you have to go all the way round.

I played this course last weekend and was actually quite suprised at what great value for money it offers, 18 holes for around £7. I was also suprised to find the course was in pretty good condition considering it is looked after by the local council. Some interesting holes, I particularly enjoyed the 3rd and the 7th. However my one grumble is the fact the golf course has many paths running through it and can sometimes be littered with local kids which can be very off putting when taking a shot, therefore I recommend playing this course on a weekday morning or afternoon when the children will be at school.
A superb 'cheap and chearfull' course.

I am a member at the course, and having read the other players comments I would like to assure everyone that the course is now being looked after much better by new green keepers. It will take time to get the greens themselves to their best, but the fairways have never looked better. It is also one of the few courses I know that can genuinely be played year round as it has excellent drainage, so please don't be put off by the other comments here-in.

nice little course for the beginner or like me aborn again golfer after 30 odd years just one gripe i don,t mind abit of rought nudge nudge wink wink but please could the bloke who cuts the fairways use a grass collector box because the cuttings settle ontop of the rought like a canopy so when aball goes and settles under acres of this stuff after i just hit the 350 yards [joke] i cannot find it , its costing me and many others asmall fortune in balls.
