i played the coarse in a society around about june time 07 on a hot summers day. i think on the opening holes you want to be playing pretty well, your faced with seemingly wide fairways but with a cross wind can be very quickly blown in to the punishing rough.you start off with a kind of dogleg to the right,on the second a testing par 5 awaits. a couple of holes into the front nine you may feel it is a straight forward almost parkland type golf coarse but dont be fooled the real links holes are yet to come by the time you get to the 11th you will be fogiven for thinking your in troon or maybe turnberry! there re some great holes out here especialy on the back nine. overall everyone in the society enjoyed there day out at castlepoint and the barstaff girls were very friendly,if you enjoy links golf its definetly worth a round and great value for money

Played this course 24thJune 2007,and I must say this has to be the worse golf course in the south of England, the condition of the greens are terrible,no grass just moss and weeds This is a holiday course with people playing in T shirts, or no shirts and beach shorts. Club house and changing room is disgusting. The bar area furnisher is from the local schools and the carpets are just patches sown together The girls in the pro shop have no idea about golf I would not waste my time driving onto the Island Give this course a WIDE Berth

in the past year (2006-2007) the course has not been maintained well at all. no good for a nice day of golf. greens, fairways and tees are hardly ever mowed. greens are brown and have holes and dents in, fairways are like short rough with holes in. No rough, just very long grass.not much variety of holes. some holes run alongside the main road and kids yell abuse at you when you are teeing off.only reason the course is a challenge is because the fairways are never mowed and the greens haveholes all over them.

Nice course for a midweek swing of the sticks wiv the lads!

Great value at just £8 for a quick nine holes (50p off wiv my Glendale Passport to Golf card... not much I know but better than nothing!)

Fairways and greens in nice nick now Glendale have taken over and staff were really welcoming and friendly. Lovely bacon and egg roll by the way!

Will make this a regular weekly visit.

Hi this is a hard cource to play in the wind and is a chalenge on the best of windy days. The course is being maintained by Glendale golf. So the greens and fairways are much better than of late. The first tee has been moved to the frount of the club house. So plenty of eyes seeing you tee off. The 14th is 150-160f over water in the wind can be hard if not a big hitter. Overall a nise little course to play a round on. Pick a very windy day to play?

Castle point golf course is not to bad but the greens are to slow. the fairway is pretty good.

It is not to easy fir people who can't play golf but the course is really good condition i would hope that you will play on it because it's quite a game.
