An absolutlely great course. Fantastic countryside with well thought out holes.Greens were in great shape, pity it rained on us (it sure does come down from up them hills!) We had a great day and will be back.

Foos was excellent and the staff could not have been better.

I scoffed after seeing the yardage of 5,833. In Buxton on business from the US, I played Cavendish consecutive days. In spite of the lack of length, this course was great. Many fun, somewhat quirky holes. The key to this course is from 100 yards and in. Holes 10 and 11 are two great par fours and number 5 is the longest 411 yard hole I've ever played. I am a 2-handicap and shot well over par both days on this little diamond in the rough. The only negative was that the greens had just been top-dressed and were in rough shape. It would have been a real test with slick greens.

What a great course! Played the day here on one of the only sunny days in May so far. The course looked and played superbly. After a relatively unspectacular opening 3 holes, the course starts to present more of a challenge. Most of the par 3s are from elevated tees, where wind is a big factor and some of the greens are fiendish. At the 5th, one of my playing partners putted up the slope 3 times and each time his ball came back to his feet. Although not a particularly long course, there are many memorable holes, culminating in a very challenging closing hole. Everyone seemed very friendly and the food was perfectly acceptable. I can't wait to go back.

A thoroughly brilliant days golf. The course required thought to get a good score with superb greens. Surprised how often you could get your driver out but the back nine needed greater consideration to conservatism. You must play this course it is great. The welcome and food in the clubhouse was very good as well. I will be back!

Great layout - as is Kedleston , Walton , and Allestree Park. Greens are fast and true. Seems to be very tough SS68. Nice views and probably 3rd best course in Derbyshire after Walton & Kedleston.

Thoroughly enjoyable golf. Great views, well thought out layout (as you would expect from the man who went on to design Augusta), and in good condition. The greens were fast and true, once you'd worked out the subtle(!) contours. Surprisingly there were also a good few opportunities to open your shoulders with the big stick. A very fair test of golf.
