My club so apologies for bias. Fine course, not long but very tough. To play this course well you need to have a good positional game - getting yourself on the right part of the green is essential as the greens are among the quickest you will find in the UK - indeed I am yet to encounter quicker. Saturday morning (Captains Day) was a good example. Card intact coming to the 15th (par 3), pin position middle left. Just missed the green to the left of the pin but no more than 15ft from the flag but with the green falling quickly away from me - walked off with a 6 and goodnight! Despite being in Essex it is surprisingly hilly and lugging your sticks round is pretty tiring. From what I have played I would only rate Thorndon Park ahead of it in Essex and the course is good enough to bare comparison to any other in the South East.

A very unnusually different course with the first 4 holes giving the impresion of a mediocre course then... it gets exciting, length is not a problem but the lightening fast greens are. holes to watch out for, the 11th a reall monster and the signature 17th although my favourite was the 6th you will enjoy well worth the money

An extremely pretty course with some lovely holes. The greens are superb, the fastest truest greens I have ever played on. Distance from the tee is not the overwhelming issue with accuracy and putting being the sure way to card a good score. Well worth the trouble to play.
