Played this course today (03/02/2007) and was impressed, esp' as the Green fee was only £11 - great value! Despite the very wet weather of late the course was in very good condition. Temporary mat tees in use but it is clear that they have been working hard on the regular tees and they looked in great condition for when they are re-opened. Greens in good nick, grass a fraction long but may have been too wet to mow. Good variety of holes. All in all great value at £11 weekday still good at £20 weekend although it does get busy apparently.

Having played Cheshunt mid-week recently for the first time I have considerable mixed feelings for the course.

On the positive side I felt it was good value, and going off first thing my four-ball had a peaceful round with no-one in front or behind. The course itself is of an excellent length and the majority of the holes are well laid-out. Apart from the 17th the par 3's were interesting and of a good length and unusually, in my experience, for a municipal there were some lengthy par 4's made more difficult with dog-legs.

However, from a golfing perspective the greens were abysmal with possibly the longest grass I have ever seen on a course. With them being heavily watered they were also the slowest I have ever played on. And, at the risk of sounding unduly snobbish, I wasn't overly keen on the football shirts, jeans or topless (male) golfers.

Overall, a pretty good course from tee to green just spoiled by the condition of the putting surfaces.

Played Cheshunt this summer 2005 and must say it is a well looked after course. The reports of being tight and tree lined course was a falsehood. It has quite open fairways and lovely spongy greens.

Played on Sunday and was pleased to see that it is in much better condition than last time I was there! Greens were very responsive although maybe a little long. Fairways in good condition too. My only gripe are the tees, not their condition but the very confusing yardage information. The 17th is particularly wrong! Generally a fairly straight forward course but pleasant enough. We started fairly early 9:24 and got round in 3 1/2 hrs but judging by the backlog as we passed the early holes on the way back, it will take much longer. My advice, book early to avoid the rush!

Played here on Sunday and was disappointed.

used to play here all the time when I lived around here and the course was always in good nick with excellent greens.

The greens are now diseased, and yes I know it is the end of Winter, but the fairways are full of mud.

Every tee was temporary. Not good value for money at £20. I do hope it improves as I have fond memories!

I played Cheshunt Sunday just gone (24/8/03) and have to say it was atrocious. The fairways might as well have been Tarmac, so hard and fast were the. A bit of grass might have helped!! I know we have to make allowances for the recent spate of hot weather but even so. If you own a decent set of clubs, dont play this course. Luckily I have an old wedge which I used whenever i thought my clubs were in danger. Greens were poor to.

Shambolic im afarid to say, which is a shame as some of the holes are laid out very nicley and a couple are demanding lenght wise. Perhaps if the course was watered it could be good but at present, I wouldnt play there again.

Sorry to be so negative.
