This course has come on leaps and bounds in the last 3 years. In my opinion the best muni in brum. Good challenge and good value for money. Seems to have had influx of money as the greenkeepers are out on the course everyday.

Very impressed with the course - nice hot day in the middle of September. From the Tee to the pin everything was in excellent order. Fairways, Rough and greens recently cut and well looked after.
The only thing I found a little odd was the odd child and adult walking dogs around the fairways without a care in the world.
The main facilities shared with the sports hall did not seem enough to cope with the number of people at the centre.
The golf shop was well stocked and seemed reasonably priced.

The greens have just been hollow-tined which should really help, as last month they were rock hard with bare patches on them. The course played well even under torrential rain yesterday, it’s always going to play short, but it’s a well designed, if heavily used municipal.

played it once and will never go back. It was dreadful. To be fair it did have a few decent holes toward the end. standing on the 13th tee i felt like i was in a firing range. play it if you must but there are much better munis around.

i played cocks moor 10/11/04 and was looking forward to a decent round of golf having played most of the bham municipal coures. The course was at best a complete joke, balls plugging into every green, fairway grass so long that when hitting down the middle you still faced a 5 minute search for the ball.I know many will say "well it is winter" and "it is a municipal" but the condition spoilt a well laid out course. The staff were friendly but gave no hint to a course unplayable.I have played all the courses on the bham links circuit and all in winter and can say cocks moor must do better. My advice to municipal golfers is to try hilltop.

CMWGC is a pleasant woodland course. Slighty hilly and with a good mix of long and some particularly challenging short holes. Mid week access is relatively easy but it gets very busy at weekends. It's part of the Birmingham Golf Link scheme and green fee discounts are available if you join the scheme.
