Coombe Hill Golf Club Player Reports
Lee Hopkins (England) 09/12/07
If you ever get the chance, make sure you play Coombe Hill at least once in your lifetime. I've just returned from playing a round at Coombe Hill this morning & although the weather put a slight downer on the proceedings, the course more than made up for it!
A real thinking mans course with bunkers strategically placed to swallow any drives that aren't arrow straight. A driveable Par 4 to open with (if you're feeling confident), may lull you into a sense of security......but this course hits back!! The Par 3's are fantastic & very pleasing to the eyes, if not the scorecard. Some great driving holes where you can really let rip if you're hitting them straight, but it's very hilly......so a trolley is a must (at the very least).
Bearing in mind the weather we've had the past week (constant rain), the course was in fantastic condition.......both fairways & greens.
Be sure to stop at the halfway house, as it is probably the best i've experienced & the homemade soup proved to be a lifesaver!
A very friendly club, that i'll definately be returning to!
