Drayton Park Golf Club Player Reports
Martin Gladwin (England) 14/05/03
A colleague and I visited Drayton Park in May 2003. I have played at many clubs across the UK over the last 10 years and cannot remember a warmer, friendlier welcome and treatment than that received at Drayton Park.
The car park feels like colditz with a high security fence and entry system, but don't let that put you off.
The course itself is very enjoyable to play and should be enjoyed by all handicaps. My friend plays of 26 and I am off 6 - we both thoroughly enjoyed the challenges presented by the course. It is relatively flat with some tree-lined holes, but also several holes where you can let fly a bit! I thought the par-3's were all a terrific test - proving that they don't have to be 200+ yards to be tough.
The lunch menu is superb - faggots, chips and mushy peas must not be missed!
If you are loking for a top condition course that will not beat you over the head and is within easy reach of Brum, I cannot recommend Drayton Park highly enough.
