Nice tree-lined course with scenic views of the surrounding countryside, this is what you might call an undiscovered gem.
Clubhouse modern inside and good food and beer (most important thing!). The locker rooms look as if they've been refurbished recently too.
The course itself requires a good long game, especially on the front 9. Lose you driving game and it gets very difficult. My personal preference is actually the par 3's, all very different and well thought out.

An unusual course but not unpleasant. £35 for a round mid week in June.
Very lop sided - 38 out 34 back, start with a 500 yrd + par 5, then par 4 and another par 5, so pretty daunting. 3 par 5's on the front nine means that you need to be fairly handy with the driver. Added to this the bunkering is tough - lots of fairway hazards plus some unseen pot bunkers at the 9th.
Course meanders up and over the hills, with pleasant views and a real feel of being away from the hustle of Birmingham.
Played after some of the most severe rain, yet the course was dry. Bunkers were full of water, yet greens dry, smooth and very fast. Several of the 'up turned saucer' variety were very tricky.
Back nine relatively straight forward running back to the club house. You could do either nine as you wish since 1 and 10 start at the club house.
Facilities fairly standard. Welcome at the pro shop, but don't take credit cards for green fees - why do so many clubs not do this?

A DELIGHTFUL COURSE, THAT IS A JOY TO PLAY AND ONE THAT WILL TEST ALL FACETS OF YOUR GAME. A LITTLE IMBALANCED MAYBE FOR THE PURISTS, 38 PAR OUT & 34 PAR IN. THE FRONT NINE IS MUCH LONGER, WITH 3 PAR 5'S AND TWO TESTY LONG PAR 4'S. THERE ARE A NUMBER OF HOLES THAT ARE OF REAL QUALITY, THE PAR 4 5TH WITH A SEVERE DOG-LEG RIGHT REQUIRES A PRECISE TEE SHOT AS BUNKERS AWAIT AT THE ELBOW. THE 9TH IS A TOUGH PAR 4, YOU NEED TO KEEP YOUR TEE SHOT TO THE RIGHT OF THE FAIRWAY OTHERWISE YOU ARE BLOCKED OUT BY THE TREES. THE PAR 5 13TH IS A DOUBLE DOG-LEG, BUT FOR THE LONGER HITTERS MAYBE REACHED IN TWO. THE PAR 3 16TH IS A REAL MONSTER AND A POTENTIAL CARD WRECKER IF YOU HAVE A GOOD SCORE GOING!!! THE GREENS ARE VERY GOOD, AND AS OTHERS HAVE SUGGESTED IT IS AN ADVANTAGE TO KEEP YOUR BALL BELOW THE HOLE, ESPECIALLY ON THE 4TH, 8TH, 14TH & 18TH. I PLAYED BY MYSELF, BUT UNFORTUNATELY GOT STUCK BEHIND SOME SENIORS WHO WERE PLAYING A MATCH. NOW I KNOW THAT A SINGLE PERSON HAS NO STANDING ON THE COURSE, BUT THE PACE OF PLAY WAS PAINFULLY SLOW. A FOURBALL WHO WERE A FULL FIVE HOLES BEHIND, CAUGHT ME UP ON THE BACK NINE AND I SHOT 9 OVER PAR SO WAS PLAYING PRETTY DECENT. THE SENIORS MATCH FINISHED ON THE 12TH, SO SOMEONE TOOK A HAMMERING, BUT DESPITE BEING ON THE SAME TEE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AFTER THIS THEY STILL REFUSED TO CALL ME THROUGH!!! ON THE 17TH AS I WAITED TO PLAY MY APPROACH TO THE GREEN, THREE GROUPS WERE WAITING BEHIND ME!!! WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A THREE HOUR ROUND TOOK ALMOST FIVE!!! IF VISITING, I WOULD CHECK TO SEE IF THERE IS ANY SENIOR MATCHES ON, OTHERWISE BE PREPARED FOR A LONG, LONG ROUND!!!

Having played the course on 17.6.02 I found it to be in very good condition the fairways good and the greens true and medium/fast with some nice breaks. Alot of the rough was being cut down at the time of playing but I found the course fairly easy with open fairways on most holes. Holes of note 1st dogleg left, 5th dl right, 6th and 16th a nice long par 3.
All in all a good conditioned course for £30 you get a day pass, weekday.

Druids Heath is an outstanding golf course that is quite a good test to most golfers,it is quite welcoming and there are some realy nice members within the golf club. The barmaid Chris is realy friendly and welcoming along with her staff and the caters. The professional Glenn is realy helpful and is quite often ready with a joke, pro shop is well worth a visit contains a wide range of golfing eguipment.
In the summer when the greens become realtivly quick although the brakes are not all that visable to the eye when reading the line of your putt beware there is more than meets the eye little tip try not to hit the ball past the flag on any hole aspecially the 4th,14th and 15th.The best thing about this golf course is the 9th hole, it is along par 4 and even for the better players in the club sometimes proves to be quite a task to get up in two walk of this hole with a par 4 then "WELL DONE".
It is most definatly worth visiting if you are an adult golfer best time to visit July as the condition of the course is up to its best.
