Enville Golf Club Ltd Player Reports
John Phillips (England) 26/08/03
This is a seriously fabulous venue. Enville is possibly the best value for money day's golfing that can be had. To be able to play fantastic heathland, woodland, parkland golf courses that compare with the best anywhere for £40 is unbelivable! I found Enville compares very favourably with Woburn when playing the woodland holes, St Georges Hill when playing the heathland holes and anywhere else you care to name, when playing the other holes. The abundance of heather, gorse, silver birch and pines for me is the ultimate in golf course landscape. The Lodge course, is the tighter, more heavily tree lined of the two courses, but both offer a variety of holes which require accurate, straight hitting.
It's very Surrey sand belt and to have it on the doorstep is a huge plus. I cannot wait to return. The breakfast enjoyed by my society was of the 'don't eat it, climb it' proportions and great quality – right up my street. So good to recieve a friendly greeting in a pro-shop too, (it only encourages repeat business, I don't understand why it is not more widespread) all the staff were all chatty, friendly and helpful. It is such a small thing but makes such a big impression.
Do yourself a favour, get to Enville and enjoy two fabulous golf courses at the right money.
