played this course on tuesday. Looked on their web page which said 18 pounds each for a 4 ball, but on arrival was told "yes, the web page is wrong it's 20 pounds".We asked if there were any mats or temp. greens and were told that you will be playing off 3 mats and no temps. got out on the course and found 6 mats and 3 holes with no sand in the bunkers around the green.Expensive for what the course is ,we played on a very windy day in hard conditions and still all scored over 30 points. We didn't find the staff friendly and thought they would have know the condition of the course and honoured the price on the web page,I think they are one of these clubs who allow visitors on their course very begrudgingly.Last thing, they won't except any 2 4 1 in winter.

Played this yesterday on a 'Winter' rate that was further reduced because a couple of holes were 'on temporaries' - turned out that the greenkeepers had closed them, but (in typical golf club fashion) the message became muddled somewhere.

Perfect sort of starting couple of holes before the tough tests start - shots into or over gulleys and relatively tiny greens. This is a course that demands fitness (at least the first dozen holes) and accuracy - fairway are narrow too.

Only a couple of criticisms: Slightly simple/up and back nature of holes 13-18 (and 15 and 16 seem almost to have been a late addition) and, while greens were in great condition and ran beautifully, missing tee markers indicate need for maintenance to other aspects of the course. Managed to avoid sand so cannot comment other than 'looked OK'.

Friendly staff and members. Recommended.

Returned after a few years, still in excellent condition and the older you get the hills get higher.

However this a good course with a good friendly and welcoming clubhouse, very fast and true greens and winter rates are a steal, incredible value. The chef looked after us and was I think please to see some hungry paying customers.

A good day,well worth a visit,thanks Flackwell

Played here in their seniors open, off the white tees! A true test of golf on the front 12 holes, take a course planner to try and find the right line. The second part of the course is quite different and a little easier but the correct line is still very important. The whole course was in superb condition (bear in mind the prolong dry spell at this time) and the greens were excellent.

The proximity to the M40 does produce traffic noise, but the satisfaction of playing golf on such a challenging course whilst others are charging about in their cars is adequate compensation. Good food and service are other reasons to search out and play here, I will hope to play the event again next year.

The course is mainly parkland with the odd bit of heath, with some holes more suited to mountain goats. A mature, well laid out, well maintained course with good quality greens. You should find the par 3 3rd an interesting challenge, there is no safe place to miss the green. Unusually the greens by the clubhouse are 18 and 12, with the starting tees being 1 and 13. Good value on a discount scheme.

Flackwell Heath is a well laid out course which due to it's location is also well drained through the Winter. The front nine holes are tough going, some holes are played over large hills, however the par three's are exceptionally challenging.

The back nine flattens out, and is more playable. The course offers fairly good value for money and is probably better siuted to the Winter when other courses may be waterlogged. The greens are in good condition and the scorecards are well laid out and informative. Add to this a good pro shop and club house and you have the location for a good golf day out, even if the first nine holes are a hard walk.
