For anyone who has not been to this course since the last entry before mine then make the journey and be prepared for a pleasant surprise. This is no longer a 'council run' course and the change shows. The one and only downside is the club house is separated from the course by a sports field. After that things get better and better. I have played here at various times for 12+ years and the course is approaching its best condition ever!

I used to work at FPGC. I'm really happy to see that at last it's reached the technolgy decade and has a website.
Say Hi to Chris.

I played here late September and was quite impressed. Certainly, it wasn't as bad as the previous e-mail made out. There aren't that many long holes (+400 yds), but is pretty well kept and not too busy - at least when I went.
It is certainly a fairly tight course and would not suit the slicer! There is a good mixture of Par 4s and 3s and it is good value at around £9 for 18 holes. A 5 day pass for £170 also seems a good deal for beginners with time to spare during the week.

This is quite possibly the worst course I have ever played.
The greens were in appauling condition even considering the winter we have had and the fact this is a council run course. The fairways don't appear to have been mown for at least a couple of weeks and the tees are nothing more than dust and a few tufts of grass.
The whole feel to the course was one of neglect. I am sure that with a bit more investment this could be a nice course it just isn't worth the £12 green fee.
Go hit some balls up your local driving range if your after some proper paractice.

Yesterday was the first time i have played Fleming Park for 5 years, an by the 9th hole I was
wondering why I hadn't come back before. Don't be fooled by it's Par 65, it can be quite challenging
with tight fairways. The front 9 is mainly parkland with2 short par 3s over a brook which has a
hedge in front and mature trees so all you see is the top of the flag. The back 9 takes you into the
woods and a trip under the M3 for 3 holes. The greens were good and quite fast, even though when we
were playing the sprinklers were on. Marshals kept the flow running, there were a ladies & seniors
competitions going on at the time. I had my 16 year old son with me and it wa only his 3 time on a
full 18 hole course, and the members we met were all encouraging to him and very friendly. A well
stocked shop and good facilities. will probably go back with 16 & 14 year old juniors soon.
