Frinton is a lovely course and just about qualifies as a links course. The course is very well maintained. Afternoon green fee was only £19 which is very good value. The first 3 holes form atrianngle that bring you back to the clubhouse. Then it's 4 holes into the wind along side the sea-wall. After that the next 8 holes go back and forth until the last 3 holes head home. The last 2 par 5's give you a chance to make a couple of late birdies but watch out for the fleet across the 18th fairway at about 270 yards from the tee. I would recommend a visit to anyone who enjoys links golf.

Closest thing to a true links in Essex. Greens were fast, but didn't appear to be in that good a condition. Buy a course guide, not all hazards are evident from the tees. Rough is catastrophic should you be unfortuanate enough to find it. Take plenty of ammunition if the wind blows, and CAN IT BLOW HERE!!!!!!!! I thought the course overall could have been presented in a better state, a lot of tidying up to be done throughout. The clubhouse is like taking a step back in time, it doesn't look like things have changed since the 1930's, which may be the charm of the place. Natives seemed friendly but a tad over-fussy about trivial things. Worth a visit for the experience.
