Fulford (York) Golf Club Ltd Player Reports
Harry Putter (England) 25/08/03
Fulford is a beautiful track of land shaped into a first class golf course. I found the course quite reminiscent of the great Woodhall Spa but without the cavernous bunkers. Most holes are isolated by beautiful, varied, mature woodland, which occasionally creeps into play around driving distance. The condition of the course is immaculate, the springy heathland fairways are a joy to walk and the greens are among the very best I have ever played. It is hard to pick out a favourite hole, every one offers a unique challenge, the opening stretch is particularly strong with 3 long, demanding par 4’s, then after a long hike over the A64 the course takes an interesting loop with holes constantly changing direction. For all but the very best golfers this course is a serious challenge, if you haven’t got your best driving game with you, you will really struggle. For a top class, easy walking, attractive heathland gem, look no further, this is one of the best courses in northern England. – 9.5/10

Visited Fulford May 2003. The course was in very good condition and the greens were superb. The staff were very helpful and friendly and it was an excellent day out. Would certainly visit again.

Played on 15th May 2002, All staff very friendly and helpful. The course was in very good condition, some slight water damage to some fairways but otherwise found it very enjoyable. Some marvellous holes and a great place to play with long irons. Will definetly return again shortly.

I had the greatest of pleasure in playing Fulford for the 8th year on the trot on the 5th May 2000, and once again this golf course was immaculate. Everything connected with this golf course is superb, if i had to play one golf course for the rest of my life i would choose Fulfford Golf Club.

Played a fourball 19th Nov 99. Winter fees £20 . A nice course , good value for money, and in good condition. Not a championship course anymore, but a good test for club golfers.

Three of us played 36 at Fulford on 10 September 1999 and were a bit disappointed. It was in good nick, and the greens were true, but it seemed quite wide open and I can understand why the B&H went elsewhere, pros today would murder it. At £45 for a day ticket a bit overpriced. If you're in the area and want to spend that much play at Pannal nr. Harrogate.
