Very dissapointing and dangerous as well !!!.
If your thinking of playing this course take a motorcycle helmet its the only way to stay safe. Holes just seem to cross each other at random. Couple this with greens sited right next to tees and you've got a recipe for disaster.
I also thought the lack of a course planner of any description was a big minus on a course where thinking your way around would seem to be the order of the day.
Lack of practice facilities was also annoying. I couldn't find a range , a chipping area or a practice bunker.
The only plus I could find were the greens which were superb.
In conclusion unless your an ex squaddie and miss the thrill of dodging incoming missiles , you work for the HSE or are a golf insurance salesman don't bother.

top quality golf course with very demanding challenging holes;5th,7th,12th and a tricky uphill par3.i would recommend this course to good players willing to challenge a groce 66 medal score.the greens are exceptional and course is maintained beautifully.
caterers 'nevan and angela'cook delightful food and service with a smile.
the club pro and assisstant are very helpful to put your swing right.one of the best golf clubs in the midlands.
also very nice to see many good junior golfers out and about and obeyinbg course etiquette.as i am one my self whom won the junior open!!!

Played this Course 26.09.05 and what a disappointment. First of all the club pro was very unwelcoming and even told me he could take cash for green fees (What in this day and age) Second they have gone overkill with security because of some thefts your buzzed in and then the pro has to let you into the changing rooms then when you come back after 4hrs of hill walking, you have to wait again, then back to the pro shop for an exit token. ( He wouldn't even give me one when I went to get changed, What a carry on!
The course layout is tight in many places it feels like the land had 18holes crammed into space for 12. With so many fairways tees and greens crossing each other you hardly get any rhythm you are constantly waving other players on or waiting for them to play it is a nightmare. The directions from hole to hole is poor and you can easily lose your way especially from the 4-5 and 14-15. Don't follow the locals they miss holes out especially the ones which are like Ben Nevis! The best thing I can say about this course is that the greens are excellent very true and very quick you have to be spot on with your putting. Bunkers also nice with plenty of rakes and good quality sand The only plus I can say is that we played on a greenfree 2-1 discount. I usually play the Birmingham municipal circuit and wished i had Save your money and play somewhere else instead this was my most disappointing golfing experience ever.

Played the course on 2F1 for £13 in June 05 after a most terrific amount of rain had fallen the previous 24 hours. The course held up very well. It is similar in set-up to a lot of Scottish Highland courses, such as Boat of Garten, or Grantown in it's array of un-easy lie's. But the course is pure magic. Not long, but it keeps asking questions of your game. Cannot recommend the course and the facilities enough, and on 2F1 it is a gift !

Played in feb 05 on a 2 for 1 and at £13 this is well worth a visit. We found after trying to contact the club it was best to turn up on spec. If any members are reading this then please inform the secretary to update or improve the contact numbers available.
The course is short but tricky although I must ask the question Why does this club just to get the SSS up around the 70 mark make a 250 yard all downhill hole a par 4. Even the 24 handicap in our group found it a simple par when it could be a real death or glory par 3. Despite this minor gripe the course given the time of year played great and the greens held up well and despite recent rain ran slow but true.
The pro is a true gent and made us feel most welcome as did his assisstant. All in all at only 5 mins from junction 3 of the M5 this course especially on a 2-4-1 is well worth a visit.
one other nice touch was the huge amount of junior golfers on the course.
Jim Semple (England) 06/03/02
Top class golf course, certainly amongst the very best in the West Midlands.
Fantastic greens all year round, the envy of many golf courses locally, great test of golf.
Course record for Medal is currently 66, must have been a hell of a knock to achieve that around Halesowen.
What does Halesowen have to offer after your round has completed ? - Excellent friendly reception in main lounge, first class bar and catering facilities. I can't wait to go back !
