I have played this course on 3 occasions and generally it is a fair test of golf with some interesting holes, particularly on the front 9. Previously I have found the course in excellent condition but this time (last week in March) the fairways were extremely muddy and the greens soggy to say the least. I would suggest it is best to play it in a dry summer. On a brighter note, the professional's shop was well stocked, worth a visit with the staff most helpful. The catering was excellent - a good carvery.

i played here in what was supposed to be a school match so it was free, but when the other school never turned up, me and my fellow golfers headed out to play the front nine. the course was designed by james braid so i was looking foward to a good quality course. unfortuantely i was very dissapointed. all the tees were in what can only be described as dire condition as a blade of grass was scarce so we were just playing off mud. only few of the greens actually did roll true. but holes were very interesting and nicely varied. not too much trouble off the tee as i found my drives piercing all but one fairway. rough not too penal and bunkers very easy. favourite hole was uphill par 5 with about 180 yard carry up a 30 foot ascent. changing rooms were even worse than a muni's and pro shop was a bit of a joke.

Hi my name is Phil Sumner, i am a member at this beautiful course. I enjoy playing it as there are many trees which do tend to challenge me. Although i still pull a nice shot out of the bag. I strongly recomend this course. especially with its great services such as the cook. Thanks a lot for your time,
Philip

Haydock park is a fantastic parkland course.
There are many challenging holes some may challenge the most experienced golfers.
Great value and a challenge for all ages.

Haydock Park is one of the best courses in the north west.
It is a fine parkland couse that was formed in 1877.The course in not long but it is a very testing track with many traps to catch the wayward shot.
Play the course and see for your self.
