Stunning scenery in this super parkland setting makes for a very enjoyable game. The course isn't the longest but with a par of just 70 you need to be on your game. Parts are quite hilly but nothing backbreaking. Great greens and a good mixture of hazards combine to make this a reasonable test of all aspects of your game.
The clubhouse is very nice indeed, an old building (listed I think) but with lots of different rooms and good restaurant area for formal meals. This is one of the friendliest welcomes our group had ever received, and we play a lot up in the North of England. Everyone from the pro to the bar staff were excellent.

Played Hexham on the 2nd October 2006 and I have to say it is one of the most beautiful golf courses I have ever had the pleasure of playing!!
It is a deceivingly tough course as you can often be distracted by how stunning the course is. There are alot of tight fairways with the course being heavily tree lined so keeping your tee shots accurate is the name of the game here!!
If your in the North East area and are thinking of playing somewhere I would highly recommend Hexham especially if you have a 2 fore 1 voucher.
I will most certainly be returning in the near future!!!

Wow! A great course. The 1st and last holes are fab as are numerous others too many to mention. You have to be pretty straight as fairways cut tight with some heavy rough. Very friendly pro & clubhouse staff as were the members we bumped into during our round. A must play for the north, we will certainly making more regular visits here during the year

Played 05/10/03. Spectacular views and course to match. The course is the most hilly I've ever played but don't be put off by the thought of walking up and down them. The layout of each hole is interesting and requires some working of the ball but a thoroughly rewarding experience when it goes right (and if not just the veiws/scenery make up for it). Highly recommended to all but better suited to the better golfer. I think those who don't shoot below 100 may struggle. Friendly pro shop, nice clubhouse and the hot beef baguette (£2.50)at the end topped off a great round. If you're in the region definitely worth a visit.
