Played here in July in one of their open competitions. Lovely new club house, good food, fair priced drinks at the bar and a nice balcony to watch people teeing off on the first and playing into the 18th. The very mature course was in excellent condition, the greens are very tricky to read, stay below the hole to attempt birdie chances.
The second to sixth are rather “up and down” and lack the feeling of going anywhere. Several holes are quite frankly dangerous, in one case, two holes share one fairway but playing in an opposite direction!! For the longer hitters it is possible to drive both greens and this must cause nightmare holdups on busy competition days. It might be they have attempted to extend the course to accommodate modern equipment, but are obviously restrained by the houses that surround the course. Good 150/200 yardage makers, but strangely the yellow tee box plaques had no yardage at all. Rather lacking in signage from green to next tee meant it was easy to exit the green on the wrong side and thus hold the group behind. I left the course feeling 18 holes were crammed into an area that could only really support 15 holes.
