An interesting undulating course with amazing panoramic views over the South West area of the Midlands.
Greens are fantastic, especially given the conditions they must face that high up. Fairways are bumpy, following the natural lie of the land. No winter mats which I find a blessing.
I personally would avoid on a windy day - must be a nightmare!!
All people we met were more than friendly - we will return.
Favourite Hole, 15th, 200+ Par 3 playing from an elevated tee.
Worst Hole, 18th, Sloping fairway killed my card - watch out.

played this course 5-10-05 ...I was told that it would be a good test, and it was. Anybody who has played this type of course before will know that heathland greens can be a bit hit and miss, but Kingtons are superb. The club house is very nice with nice food. Well worth the £20 for the view alone. I recamend it.

Martin Cox (England) 23/06/05
Played this course as a society on a hot and sunny day in June 2005. Although stated as the highest 18 holes this is not as hard a walk as you would think (You won't think it as you stand in the clubhouse or the tee looking up the 1st). The course is excellent if you like this type of golf. You will only need a driver on two or three holes unless you know you are going to hit straight. If wide the gorse and bracken will eat your ball. Good quality quick greens. Local knowledge would help but it is great fun and good value. Very friendly with good food. If you are in the area I recommend you play here but don't expect to finish with the same ball! Society's go on have a day out here if you have a bad hole, just look at the views they are breat taking.

Very different and very good.Amazing views will almost compensate for the poor round most new visitors will almost certainly have.Balls aplenty will be lost if you miss the fairway so leave the driver behind unless you're on top of your game.
The greens are excellent and the two par threes on the back nine are as good as you get.Make time to play this course if you possibly can.

what a superb course, played saturday 09/08/2003, virtually had the course to ourselves the views alone make it worthwhile(helps you forget the awful last drive, putt, chip etc). the yardages aren't over long, but today was glorious, no wind, rain etc, in fact it was the heat that did for us!! the greens are second to none of all the courses i have played this summer.i would reccommend this course to anyone, although billed as the highest course in england the walking is'nt that bad(you start high and stay high. no real climbs)so if its the thought of a hard walk thats deterring you, please forget about them, go for it, you won't regret it.

What a gem. Played the course with seven friends (2 fourballs) on the 19/09/02. The greens were first class and the views unreal. A fair and challenging course. The food and drink in the clubhouse was cheerfully served, tasted great and reasonably priced. Looking forward to returning some day soon and driving the green on the 8th or the 18th!!!
