Disappointing ! Thats the word that describes The Leicestershire, The name gives it something of grandeur, the price too at £35 for a round of golf, it is far too excessive as it does not come close to some of the courses in the area, Yes there are a few nice holes but the round becomes very boring with par 4 after par 4, the greens were in good condition however I felt the rest of the course including fairways was very untidy for what is supposed to be Leicestershire's best course.

Played on a lovely day in April 2006. A course without any par 5's but plenty of long par 4's! It really was in beautiful condition. The greens and fairways are the best I have ever come across in Leicestershire. Noticeable was the attention to detail in all areas of the course. It made my own look pretty scruffy in comparision.
I thoroughly enjoyed my round, and though it could be argued there is not much variety in the course. It could also be said the maximum has been achieved with what is available. I would highly recommend this as the premier course in Leicester.

Very nice club with superior club house and facilities.
Although I had a good time, the experience was let down by the course. The course has no par 5's and is mainly par 4's which makes it a bit repetitive. I also found the continuous 'washboard' ripples on many of the fairways tiresom. Saying that the course was in excellent condition and the latter 9 holes were more enjoyable open parkland style golf with mature trees and open fairways.
At £35 for a mid week afternoon round it felt a bit steep, but the food and drinks in the club house were excellent value. Paying for the round was cash or cheque - no cards! There is also a good web site with a stroke saver that can be down loaded.
A course that I won't be rushing back to play - pity since a few tweaks would elevate it into a prime course.

A really nice club with very friendly staff.
The course was in excellent condition with greens being very true.
The course is incredibly tight with no respite from tree lined fairways you may as well leave your driver at home. Bring plenty of spare balls as even the semi-rough can make it hard to find your tee shot! Accuracy is at a premium !
With no par fives this isn't the longest course ever but there are a large number of dog legs and the ninth in particular plays like a par 5.
very enjoyable course.
