Lindrick Golf Club Player Reports
Nigel Weekes (England) 01/10/07
Our 20 strong Society played here on 28th September. Efficiently organised - we had pre ordered sandwiches before we went out and these were set out in the Ryder Cup room which avoids having to put on jacket and tie. All the Club staff were very pleasant and helpful and we set out to play the course in the early afternoon.
This was beautifully presented with immaculate tees; cross cut fairways and fast greens in wonderful condition with subtle borrows not always obvious to us who were playing the course for the first time. The bunkers are consistently good with heavy sand that enabled a controlled shot.
We all appreciated the total golfing experience that that this course provides in a high quality and timeless way. We will certainly play it again.

Needed to travel from Leeds to Sussex on Friday 1st June and broke the journey to play at Lindrick. Only ten minutes off the M1 - ideal. What a good decision too! Course was excellent. Greens were very fast and true, tees and fairways first class, bunkers well tended. Rough was penal, but not ridiculosly so. You did not necessarily lose your ball just by missing the fairway. Course sets a good challenge for low handicap players, but is also very playable for high handicappers given a degree of course management. Off the course the facilities were excellent, most friendly, helpful and courteous staff who were keen to discuss the considerable history of the club. Course planner very helpful too. Would definitely playing here.

Great course which i played in a fourball costing £99. One of the best courses i have played as it was in excellent condition and had a variety of different holes. The only downside was that i wanted to play in shorts which were ok but the pro in the shop said i had to wear these very long socks if i wanted to play in shorts and i already had fairly long white socks on. He then tried to sell me these horrible skin coloured long discusting socks. My reply was to go and get my trousers from out of the car and play in those instead.

Played this on the £99 four-ball offer, which represents just about the best value for money golf you are likely to find.
The course is built on rock and sand based land which means that drainage is excellent all year round. We played in both January and April and didn't bother with Winter rules on either occasion!
A friendly welcome in both clubhouse and pro-shop gets the day off to a good start and once you get onto the course it gets better. The tees are perfect, the fairways as good as some clubs greens and the greens themselves are immaculate and lightning fast especially when putting downslope. The layout is varied and challenging requiring you to use most of the clubs in the bag. You do have to cross the busy A57 to play 6 holes but the risk to life and limb is rewarded with the payoff of some of the best holes on the course. After crossing back( hopefully with all party members still intact) you play to the par 3 18th hole with the glorious backdrop of well stocked flowerbeds and the classic style clubhouse.
Playing here would be highly recommended at any time but taking advantage of the 4-ball deal which runs until the end of May is a must.
A great course.

Fantastic.
Very warm welcome in the clubhouse and cost £99 as a deal for a Fourball tee time in winter.
Clubhouse is magnificent- very friendly stewardess/members and excellent Ryder Cup room for the casually dressed.
Course was superb. Well drained even in the depths of winter with quick, firm greens. Good mix of holes and particularly enjoyed the dog-leg 2nd and the downhill 4th.
Only downside is the close proximity of the busy A57 road that bisects the course after 11 holes but that is a minor annoyance.
Great course, great welcome and thoroughly enjoyable. 10 out of 10

Superb !
Played Lindrick in early october 05, the greens were superb - flat, quick and true.
The fairways were lush and the ball defintiely "sat up". Bunkers were OK and the layout good - the only watchout being crossing the busy A57 - we nearly lost the old guy at the back of our fourball under a camper van (oops there goes another past captain!)
