Played Newmarket in early June 2007, having been on a fruitless search of Suffolk for a round of golf. Arrived and was asked to remove my waterproof jacket in order to demonstrate that I had a collared shirt. My partner and I paid our £28 each and were told to start on the 10th as the 1st was out of action for 15 minutes. Walked over to the 10th and found 8 other people waiting to play. Walked back to the first and started. Caught up with 2 very good juniors halfway up the first and then again waiting to goo off the 2nd. They explained that a fourball up ahead would rather die than let them through. This carried on with the result that after nearly three hours we had played 7 holes. We thought we'd better leave before old age caught up with us. The course seemed in good condition with some deceptive greens and tricky approaches but the slowest play I have ever experienced. Despite huge signs in the proshop warning of the dangers of slow play, nobody seemed to be bothered about doing anything to stop it. They were too busy checking to see if I was wearing an appropriate shirt. All a bit disappointing and expensive really.

I have playd Links Golf Club three times and was thorougly impressed on all three occasions.Although a fairly long course,it is tight and super greens and well kept fairways. I enjoyed the 14th best, which was a short par 4 going down a hill. Great clubhouse with nice food. It had a luxurious feel about it and i enjoyed it alot.

I played the course in July (99) this year, having lived in Newmarket for 28 years I thought it was about time. And it was worth the wait !!! I shot 87 !! Super greens and wonderfully deceptive par threes'. Some well kept fairways and made very welcome by the members so all in all worth every penny.
PLAY IT !!!!

I THINK THIS WAS THE FIRST COURSE THAT I PLAYED ON IN THE EARKY 50'S. I STILL HAVE A SET OF HENRY COTTONS WHICH I PURCHASED \r\nHERE. I WILL BE BACK IN THE AREA ON VACATION FROM SEATTLE DURING 3/23/99 TO 4/6/99.\r\n I INTEND TO PLAY THIS COURSE DURING THAT TIME. THE THING I REMEMBER THE MOST WAS THE WIRY ROUGH ABOUT KNEE HIGH.\r\n HOPE TO SEE THE COURSE AGAIN SOON.
