played today in the rain...very supprised how good and true the green were for a public course.
a nice course for the high handicap but still a good test for the single fig player.
t boxes and bunkers in good shape..very nice...worth a visit

The course is a pretty good linky-style layout and a great place for high handicappers to get to grips with 18 holes. problem is the 5 hours it usually takes to get round! Par 4 3rd is nice par 4 witn a blind tee shot over a hill, par 4 8th is a trecharous driving hole if you are a nervous slicer!

I played Little Hay Golf course last weekend with the boys.
Now ususally the idea of a council run courses conjours up images of patch greens, dodgy fairways, bunkers which have been used as litter trays by the local feline community and evidence of hormonal teenagers using the tee boxes to sew their wild oats.
Well after playing this course my perception has changed. There was no waiting around on the first tee, we got staright off at our alloated tee time.
The greens were in great condition as were the tee boxes and fariways.
The layout of the course was also very impressive, there is plenty of space so the holes are not on top of each other and the use of the natural landscaping adds to the package, providing some great looking holes.
All things considered it was a great place to play a Sunday round of golf and we will definitly be returning in the near future.
I strongly feel that all council tax revenues should be used to creat golf course like Little Hay.

Little Hay is a very pleasant and open course worth the £16.50 green fee. I've played there a few times now as I live locally and I enjoy it all the time, their driving range is excellent and also gives the opportunity to practise bunkers and greens.I haven't played many courses in the Uk but I can say that their facilities are excellent for a public course.

little hay provided the mixture of thrill amidst a pinch of intensifying round of golf. for golfers who yearns for an enjoyable round of golf minus the punishing dread of losing their golf balls should consider this course as their next rondezvous. watch out for slow playing flights as beginners are abundant.
it's worth mentioning that more hazards should be in place to cater for more advanced players.
a real value for money though!!
