Lobden golf course is not the longest course I have ever played but boy is it tough. The wind was strong the rough is punishing and the greens are a challenge. It was mid summer on a friday afternoon and we had no problem getting on the course. The sky was clear and the views around the course are second to none. It has two tough par three's and the sroke index one (six hole) is really tough teeing of at over 1100 feet. You have to carry 200 yards before you hit the fairway and stopping your second shot on the green is almost impossible. All in all, you think your good then take the Lobden challenge.....I dare you!

Great little 9 hole moorland golf course. The views over the pennines are fantastic. Its like playing golf on top of the world. The sixth tee is the highest tee in England (so the members say) . Greens although surrounded by electric wires to keep the sheep off are as good as the best i've played this year. The rough is very penal so tee shots have to be straight. Not a long course but very interesting if the wind blows, it proberbly will. Clubhouse food excellent and cheap. Members very friendly and signed me & my mate in as guests. Well worth playing on a nice day.
