Lytham Green Drive Golf Club Player Reports

On first impressions the Green Drive course looks superb. The club house displays all the overtones of a British Open course, the course is very well maintained and the holes are challenging. The people are also very friendly and using the 2-fore-1 golf vouchers means value for money is excellent. Holes such as number 9 and 10 are adequate for any professionals and the short par 3 15th is a cracking little hole. In summary, a great days golfing for players of all standards and well worth a visit.

A course that is certainly lucious and green. The fairways are flat and spongey - lots of grass gives plenty of confidence with the long irons. The greens are small but its a pleasure taking a wedge of the fairways. There is a tailored fringe around the greens, with all the lancashire rain, it is like a shagpile carpet - so carefull with your enevitable chip shots. It was a pleasant contrast to my usual Downlands course that is built on a chalk bed. However, it is flat and the views boring - but who cares!

Green Drive is a very pleasant, flat parkland course. I found the course to be very well maintained and although the greens were small and demanding, they were in excellent condition.
