I have played this course a few times, so I just though I would add a comment here as I live locally. The front nine is tough. Very hilly. They call the first hole climb "Heart-Attack Hill". The third has an uphill blind tee shot then a drop down to a green that seems miles away. It's up hill and down dale upto the 10th. This is all worth it for the views at the 7th tee. Fantastic. The back nine is a nice pleasant stroll untill you come off the 17th green then it's one final huge climb to the 18th tee. Now the course itself. Fantastic. Lush green fairways, perfect greens. Watch out, in the height of a baking summer the greens can be like glass, and the back nine all slope towards to canal despite what you will think. You will need all your clubs and be able to use them wisely. One of the tees have been moved back 50 yards, so showing they are constantly trying to improve the course. Also new greens have been made with improved drainage. The clubhouse is very nice and welcoming with excellent food and beer.
Overall, a great course to play but as I said earlier very hilly.

Played on last Saturday of June, and whole course is in excellent condition. Fairways good, greens excellent (some of best in the area), and altogether an enjoyable round. Signed in with a Junior Member, and only paid £13! For visitors: front nine more 'spectacular' than back due to views, but very hilly. No buggies available, but power trollies instead. Small clubhouse, but pleasant enough. Practice putting green only. Nevertheless, recommended!

The views from the course are excellent (fog allowing) and the standard of the greens and fairways is high. As a visitor it was a little discouraging to have to pay £30 to play on the weekend, but I understand member's rates are good value. Temporary greens are kept to a minimum which is preferable as they were difficult to work with in early October. However, we were disappointed to be asked to pick our balls off the fairway and play them off small pieces of 'astroturf' (18"x4") we were given. As we had never done so before we felt this was an enormous handicap. I'm not sure why this method of protecting the greens is preferred over teeing the ball up on the fairway but it interfered with an enjoyable round. I would be unable to recommend the course to others as long as this method is still in practice.

This course has some fantastic views of the Cheshire countryside together with some tricky and interesting holes to play. Having been a member for the past three years, I never tire of playing this hilly and demanding club.
