Visited Marple with our Society again as the members enjoyed it the last time. Marple is not a long course but it needs negotiating carefully (similar to Peover GC). The Course was very well manicured throughout. The greens are generally fairly flat and all were in excellent condition. It is an ideal Golf Course for a Society visit, and would suit all levels of Handicaps. It has good facilities and the staff were all helpful and friendly. Can be a bit tricky to find but worth a visit.

The course was in very good condition for early in the year, the green were a credit to the club. The order of play has recently been changed giving an even challene all the way round. Although the course is not long (5552yds) it is a good test of your irons, some of the holes are tight due to righ hand out of bounds (slicers nightmare). There is a nice par 3 hole it is 232yds called 'The Gamble' on which you need to have a 190yd carry. On the whole an enjoyable friendly course, with good food. A good society day course.

Although wet due to the winter storms, the course was generally in good condition (mainly due to the use of personal mats used on tees and fairways.)
Although the use of the mats detracted from the enjoyment our group of golfers (11 to 18 handicaps) enjoyed the challenge.
The first three or so holes offer any level of golfer a serious challenge with length being a pre-requisite. Unfortunatley this is not continued through the back nine where at least 4 of the holes are "reachable " par fours.
I would recommend this course if you enjoy playing social golf, and I would expect to score near or better than your handicap.
