Great course, was in surprisingly good condition so early in the year. probably the hardest course in the area; you have to keep it straight, and you have to be careful on every hole. Good fun if you're a lower handicapper, makes for a nice challenging round that will pretty much test every aspect of your game. members are nice, just make sure u dont get stuck behind a society.

I was initially put off by the fact that we had to cross the A1 via an underground subway to get from the clubhouse to the first tee.
Once on the course itself though, we did enjoy our round. The course is a good mix of long and short holes, and while a few holes are semi-blind from the tee, I found the landing areas on the fairways to be fair in their width. I also liked the fact that the fairways felt soft and springy, and not hard like some other courses. The greens were very good in my opinion - of a good size, receptive to spin, smooth and true running. I can't say there were any truly memorable holes but then again there weren't any 'mickey mouse' (joke) holes either and that's a huge plus in my book.
The course, although next to the A1, does feel quite secluded once you are on it. Only at the 1st and 18th holes are you within earshot of the motorway. All in all, a nice course for a leisurely round.

Throw caution to the wind at your peril at Mill Hill Golf Club. Probably the most demanding local course (though Hendon is also tricky) MH has narrow tree lined fairways, testing dog legs, water and hills. It is not a long course but a great test of accuracy off the tee. Was doing fine with my 3 iron off the tee, and then got big ideas, took out my 3 wood and went crashing into the trees and out of bounds, giving up a 3 shot lead to my more cautious opponent.
My one real complaint is the surroundings - the club which was buit in the early part of the century is flanked on the one side by the A1 and on the other by the M1, making a peaceful days's golf impossible. Still a satisfying round.

Excellent course giving a mixture of tough treelined holes and difficult par 3 holes where accurate tee shots are required. Good greens that are very true. Thoroughly enjoyed my round. Nice club house where I was made to feel welcome.
