Anyone looking for an introduction to links golf should try here. Played 36 holes comfortably in a day and experienced calm and overcast conditions turning into bright and very breezy in the afternoon. Course is very traditional out and back with a few switches in direction. The course goes out on the inland side and features one very "inland feel" hole in the 4th a longish/short hole. this means the inward half patallel the shore pretty much all the way back to the clubhouse. The course is very gently undulating and has no daunting carries from the tees. The shore boundary is a shingle ridge which in places has snall sand dunes, but this is not a dune-ridden course. The greens were superb in my humble view and putts stayed on line and were quick. The highlight holes for me were the 5th, a dog-leg par-5 and then the 11th and 12th where the tees overlook the beach and the Bristol Channel. The last three holes are hard by the sand dune ridge that forms the shore barrier and out of bounds. The home hole is a long par-3, not my cup of tea, with a large green fronted by Minehead's own "Valley of Sin" and hemmed in by dune son the right and the clubhouse on the left.

For someone who has returned to the game in the past two years and rates seaside golf as the best form of the game this is a great way to induct yourself to the links game. Often tight turf, natural features rather than tricks as hazards and lots of options when playing shots in from less than 100 yards. The greens were a treat and worth a visit just to enjoy them.

I played this course over the Christmas break (Dec 05) and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were very accomodating and even offered a deal since we were visitors. The players waiting to tea off were very friendly and really made us feel welcome.

The course was very pleasing. Even though the first 4 holes were not that challenging. The rest of the course lived up to the comments already mentioned. The back nine in particular along the seafront were superb.

The course played beautifully, with good greens, nice fairways, and good tea boxes. The wind added another equation and really made shot making a must.

Cant wait to go back and play again..

We've played Minehead 3 years running now, on the second weekend in September, and have experienced completely different conditions (sun, rain, wind) etc. In all cases the course was in excellent condition (fast greens as you'd expect). It's well worth playing, although the weekend rate is now £35 which is a bit steep. I reckon it's best playing during the week, when it's cheaper and less busy (as the course is quite tightly packed into the space available, and a few holes criss-cross each other, there is some potential for danger).

Me and My brother in law played this course thursday 7th August. It was the first time we have playeda links course and we really enjoyed it. It was tough that day judging the wind as it was with us going out, but against coming in, which made the course even tougher. The staff at the pro shop and clubhouse were very friendly and helpful, as were other members of the club. The price of the round is really cheap, for saying how well the course and greens are kept.

I would recomend this course to any golfer going anywhere near Minehead.

I played this course on Firday 16th May along with 11 other members of our society. I thoroughly enjoyed the course. It really is a good links layout and when the wind blows it can be very testing. It's a challenging course without being too severe and it gives you a chance of recording a good score but beware you have to think your way around the course. You will need to hit the fairways in the right spot in order to access the greens. The greens were in excellent condition, very fast and very true. Nice friendly and welcoming clubhouse as well. All in all a good course and one I would definitely play again.

Fantastic course, played it in April and the condition was as you'd expect in mid-summer. Interesting holes throughout, including a nerve-racking 18th tee-off onto a par 3 green which lies about 10 yards from the 19th!

Heartly recomend this course to anyone, but be prepared for wind!

Good old fashioned links course. Fantastic greens, great fairways, interesting layout and very challenging when the wind picks up. Thoroughly recommmended, although try to avoid the captain's jokes in the bar afterwards!
