I played New Zealand on 25/09/06 and loved the course. Almost every hole was secluded and beautiful. It was in good condition with greens that were true and fast. I received a warm welcome from the club secretary who provided a personal tour and history of the club. You need to hit it straight off the tee to stay out of the heather which was rather thick. I played Sunningdale, Walton Heath, St George's Hill, Woking and Worplesdon the same week. All were execllent and had their own personalities. I enjoyed New Zealand as much as any of them and more than Woking and Worplesdon

Played this course in 34c heat and didnt play that well.
Great feel to the club. Very traditional and very welcoming. The members, pro, staff all were very friendly and talkative.
Its a well hidden club in the middle of some beautiful Surrey countryside.
The holes arent massively long but all are challenging and the rough / heather is punishing. If you are accurate and a good long iron player you'll love the course. Some great par 3's and some inventive par 4's.
The food was poor. No real bar food, just sandwiches. Tiny putting green and no range were the only downsides.
Great day out if you know what to expect.

Ian Hall (England) 07/05/06
Played on a pleasant early May Sunday, teeing off at 9:30am: the course was very quiet, no problems getting a tee-slot. We hardly saw anyone throughout our round: in fact, the nearest we saw to other 'life' was a deer that darted across the 14th fairway.
The course is absolutely fantastic, wonderful looking and very mature and traditional.
Each (long) hole allows you to unleash your driver with (little) impunity for a slice or hook, which helps to make it quite an easy course: I played to my handicap (18), and played pretty poorly.
The only (slight) downsides were the greens, which were very slow (although this made it easier!), and the lack of variety: there's only one par five, and most par fours are pretty similar-looking. I think it's therefore only a par 68.
Best hole is possibly the 16th, a par three played over 150 yards of heather.
Overall: very exclusive feel, very traditional and a real escape from London's hustle and bustle.
