Terrific course, which begins with two tough par 4's. You need to hit the ground running here, that's for certain. Olton only has one par 5 (the 18th) but the Par 69 is deceptive. There are very few places tio score well, maybe on a couple of the shorter par 4's on the back 9 (12 and 17) or hope to hit one stiff at the short par 3 13th. The greens are as slick as anywhere and tough bunkering makes life difficult too.

It is a tradional club, but all seemed friendly and relaxed there. There was a nice selection of beers in the clubhouse.

Nicely laid out course that was in excellent condition when we played in late March 2006. First couple of holes are long & a tough start to the course. Excellent practice facilities on site. Fantastic halfway house serving hot sandwiches next to the 10th tee!
