Just played at Parkstone as part of a golfing weekend in Bournemouth.
Lovely clubhouse with a warm welcome, good food and comftable surroundings.
The course is a lovely layout with some very scenic views across Poole Harbour.
It certainly challenges you and requires varying shots and a good judgment of distances.
The course looked untidy and the greens were very slow and bumpy although I soon adjusted to the pace.
I would have personally prefered to play Ferndown or Broadstone but still enjoyed the round. If the course was in the better condition it would be the best course in the Bournemouth area.

I played the course at the end of August and received a good welcome from the receptionist and pro shop (remember your handicap certificate!)
Lunch was excellent in the newly extended clubhouse.
The course is a fantastic layout that rewards the well hit shot and can in places severely punish the wayward shot. The view from the 8th, 13th and 16th tees are fantastic.
I have to say I was disappointed with the condition of the course when we played. The greens were a bit patchy and slow and the course looked scruffy.
I would reccommend Parksone if you are playing in the poole area for 3-4 days. If you're just down for the a couple of days then Broadstone and Ferndown are better conditioned courses so I would play them.

Played Parkstone as part of a trip involving Ferndown, Broadstone, Isle of Purbeck and obviously Parkstone (thank you Jason C for your tip!!) and can thoroughly recommend.
Be warned, for the first time ever my handicap certificate was checked in the pro-shop.
1st looked daunting initially but there's actually a fair amount of room for your tee-shot. The 3rd provides you with the first and second(!) of many blind shots - doesn't seem right but you definitely need to aim for lamp-post with second as otherwise you'll land on the 17th tee!!
Numerous good holes although possibly plays a little short - absolute key is to keep it on the fairway unless you have an ability for playing out of heather. All par 3s were lovely and par 4 8th has a beautiful elevated tee. 18th is a lengthy and tough par 3 to finish.
Overall, course was in great condition and definitely worth a visit. More scenic, less stuffy and harder than Ferndown. Easier but less scenic than Broadstone. Less wind than Isle of Purbeck.

I have played this a couple of times now when on holiday and really like it. Conditioning is generally ok to good and the holes are thought-provoking. A tight course, it rewards strategy over length. Visually very appealing too, particularly the back nine when you get lovely views of Poole Harbour.

One of the best courses I have played and I don't throw comments like that about often. A beautiful location, although surrounded by houses you are in an oasis of calm. The course makes you think about each shot and I like that. Can remember each hole vividly 1 month on, particularly the par 5s, real 3 shotters. £45 for a round at the weekend is not too bad in this day and age as well. Had a horrendous hangover, but that went within seconds of clapping eyes on the 1st hole. Would seriously recommend this course, particularly as part of a golf weekend to Bournemouth, incorporating other great courses susch as Broadstone, Ferndown and Isle of Purbeck. Each is different and you have to go a long way to find such quality so close together. And you can have a good night out in between!! The fact I shot 73 has nothing to do with how much I like this course, nor should that indicate it is easy - it isn't, but it did inspire me!

A rugged heathland course that has like so many before been swamped with scots pine. It has some lovely holes but is horribly penal in many places. You just have to hit the fairways or it's lost ball time and the fairways are hard to hit even with an iron. The greens are firm and true although when we played it, were a little slow.
