Penrith Golf Club Player Reports
Martin Cryer (England) 16/06/07
One of the most scenic course in the country, with sensational views of the lake district on a good day. This is not a monster by any means, the test is being accurate off the tee and able to deal with the wind, which like a lot of courses in hilly, exposed ares does get up.
The greens were good, despite recent rain and the clubhouse, which was recently extended and refurbished, is very pleasant and welcoming. Penrith is only a small town, and it feels like the club is part of the community. I got the impression that it's almost as if everyone in town is a member!

As regular golfing visitors to Cumbria (from North Staffordshire), Penrith is always a favourite. The views of the North Lakes mountains is stunning. Our latest visit in October (2004) the course was in excellent condition, and as always the members and staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The clubhouse is something else. my son and I played Penrith at the beginning of April 04 and the course was in excellent condition. As good as I have seen it but I still couldn't read the greens even though they were true and receptive. The 11th green will fool you, but make the trip to Penrith, it is well worth it.

My friends & I have been playing in this club's August Bank Holiday Competitions for the past 5 yearsand would highly recommend this moorland course which is well maintained and gives an excellent test of golf. We would also recommend the Sunday Roast offered in the clubhouse together with the club great fare!
