We played Himalayas/Shore combination at Prince's last Friday on a glorious day. The course was in excellent condition throughout especially the greens which were superb. Everything about this club is top notch - we received a warm welcome, the food/drink were good value and service was first class. We are already planning our next visit.

Prince's is a good course with some very tough holes if the wind gets up. I played the shore and dunes combination of which i thought the dunes were the much better of the nines with more interesting holes. I think if you haven't played St Georges or Cinque Ports, Princes is worth a visit. If you have played the other 2 you may find prince's a little disappointed but none the less for the money it is a good round of golf.

We played all 27 holes on Friday and Saturday last week and loved every agonising minute of it! Judging by the scoring, I personally found Himalayas to be the toughest nine, others found Shore to be more challenging. The course was in good condition (especially given the time of year) and although there were a few bare patches on fairways, they seemed to be more on pathways from tees etc rather than in places that you would ordinarily be playing from. The greens were on a winter cut (slightly longer) but they were in excellent nick and good to putt on. The bunkers were just a nightmare - you have to stay out of them to score well - but great fun. With our 10% discount voucher from the Fleur de Lis hotel in town (also recommended), we paid £123 each for 54 holes of golf and it was worth it. Our only gripe would be that the lunch menu was very restricted on both days.

Having booked well in advance to play all three nines, anticipation turned to slight disappointment in the end. A fantastic layout, spoilt by the condition. It seemed in need of care and attention - fairways dry and bare in places, greens a touch too slow (needed cutting) and bunkers unkempt. Himalayas was in the best nick. Still a challenge and catering etc good. Would love to see someone put some cash into the place to bring it up to Open rota standard again.

Played "Himalayas" and "Shore" nines on 30 Dec 2003. I perferred the more linksey Shore holes ("Dunes" nine are also similar as they are on the same stretch) and found course to be excellent and in excellent condition especially considering recent heavy rain. Superb greens also. Good practice facilities to warm up before.

Played Princes 3rd September 2003, truely a great course, luckily the wind was light and the rough not too punishing.. Only downside that we finished our round and 4.15pm only to be told they stopped serving food at 4pm..NOT very accommadating!
