One of those course you visit which leaves you thinking you would love to be a member!

There are a few holes half round the first nine which are a bit dull and where the land is a bit flat and seems not to drain too well but the second nine more than makes up for this with great views and well thought out holes.

A good welcome awaits n the clubhouse which has a homely unpretencous feel to it.

Great value for money and an excellent day out.

As a member of Prudhoe Golf Club since 1986, I may be accused of bias. However, the facts are what matters. Prudhoe is a true home of Champions with a host of League, County and British Amateur champions and full international players. Some of those players have gone on to be successful on the European tour. But many who have seen the scorecard are puzzled why a course of under 6000 yards should generate so many quality men and women players over the years. The answer lies in both the consistent support given to juniors and the quality of the course itself. The only way to achieve a low handicap is to attack the greens but these are small and, in most cases, surrounded by rough. All the fairways are tree-lined too so accurate tee-shots, good iron play, a delicate chipping touch and solid putting are required throughout. On the other hand, the average club golfer can play defensively and still play close to handicap. A well balanced and beautiful test for players at all levels. The course is regularly host to County events and, on Saturday 8 May, spectators are welcome to watch Northumberland take on the mighty Lancashire side. Combined with the friendly welcome, good off course facilities and competitive green fees then, anyone who has not visited yet should do so soon! I very much doubt it will be your last!

Played 05 Nov 2003. What a course! Surpassed all the info and comments had had been told about the course. Lovely scenery, greens in top shape for the time of year. Notable holes are the 6 yo play when you cross the road after hole 11. These are by far the better holes on the course, each in it own right notable of a mention, 14th has great views when you putt on this table top green as does the 17th from the top tee box. Only downfalls at this course were the lack of par 5's but most par 4's are reachable in 2 so do not dispare, and the fact that at this time of year with it being a tree lined course alot of dead leaves on some greens made it a challenge to put if you did not move them. We paid £50 for a 4 ball with Tea, Bacon sandwich before play and Soup and Sandwiches after, what a steal at £12.50 per man. Well stocked pro shop and friendly staff in bar made a great day out. Get there a must play we will play again in the summer without a doubt.
