Queens Park Golf Course Player Reports

I have regularly played QP as a visitor this summer when on business in the area. The staff in the shop are friendly and helpful and the cost of a round is excellent value. I used to play here in the 6o's with my father and from what I can remember the course has changed somewhat to accommodate the ring road / by-pass. Still, its a good test for most golfers and has some really beautiful holes (2nd, 6th, 11th) and is well worth a visit. There are a lot of dog walkers but they have as much right to be there as we have - we just need to be aware of each others' needs. They wouldn't prevent me from playing again.

queens is a great course in a great setting and has the potential to once again become the best municiple course in the country, as it once was. the course particularly over the past few years has been in outstanding condition due to an excellent head greenkeeper who has turned the condition of the course around completely. hopefully in the near future queens will gain some length due to the fact that in the 60's the course measured 6,617 yards and was a par 75. now it is 6,090 yards and a par 71.

I played this course on a society weekend in March and found it to be of a very poor standard. The greens were some of the worst I have seen or played on, the fairways were somewhat lacking in grass and the number of people wandering around the fairways with their dogs was just unbelievable. There must be better courses in Bournemouth to play than this place. Very disappointing indeed !!!!

Queens park is an excellent course and i would advise anyone who gets the chance to play there. There is the hassle of it being a public course with dog walkers and joggers not giving any considerations to the golfers. Although there has been some dramtic changes on this course its still one of the best courses i have played.

A great course layout but the condition was not great. Fairways were the main problem, they were scuffed up but the greens were smooth and true. The only other 'problem' is the public access to the park, most dog walkers look before ambling onto fairways but joggers don't. Great value for money and a beautiful layout with some testing shots and worth a visit.

I played this course with mixed expectations, knowing that it was a public course etc. What a surprise!! I can honestly say that i haven't played many better courses, public or private. Very challenging to players of all standards and very fair. Every hole offers different challenges and are very interesting. An absolute must if you are in the area, and i will definately be returning. At £16 it is excellant value for money also.
