Must admit this wasn't a course I'd heard of until offered a last minute place in a society day. A reletively flat parkland course but with trees and tight fairways, so you can't simply lash it every hole with the driver!
The first is a 400+ yard par 4 with water at Driving distance, so ended up taking 5 wood, three putted and got a seven! The day got a bit better but anyone thinking this is an easy couse should think again, this is a good test of your game.
Clubhouse was very nice and the people we spoke to were all very friendly, staff and members. The club also did nice meals and have a good main bar. Unlike my club, they have also invested in a big TV screen so was able to watch the cricket too!
Good all-round club with a nice atmosphere. Enjoy!

I whole-heartdely agree with the previous two reviewers. An excellent test of golf, in excellent condition. I foolishly used my driver on too many holes, and paid the price !!
Well worth the £25 weekday green fee.

A good test of golf to all handicaps. The best and most difficult hole being the fourth (stroke index one) at 444 yards doglegging slightly to the left. A drawing shot off the tee being ideal.
A good test of course managment as some holes will tempt you to use your driver punishing you if its anything but straight. My favourite hole was the last at about 330 yards with a stategically placed fairway bunker and an extremely large tree stopping the daring tee shot.
Superb!!!!!

A gem of a course situated on the outskirts of Nottingham. Here you have the typical parkland course in a tranquil setting. This course is all about management. You can by no means come out here with a wild driver as the holes are all tree lined and the rough is quite thick underneath them. If you try it with an iron off every tee then you leave yourself short on some holes and get hindered by the trees so it almost forces you to try and use your driver. None of the par 3's are a pushover either with the shortest probably being around 160 yards.
The greens are quick and there's no stopping your ball on there so it almost plays like a links course, where you need to land your ball short of the green and work it up to the flag. The holes may begin to look the same by the end as they are all tight and tree lined but it is a fantastic test of golf in lovley surroundings.
My favourite was the dogleg par 4 3rd. Tight off the tee forcing you to go with an iron but if you do you have a blind shot over trees into a skewered green with not much chance of stopping it. If you go with your driver you risk putting it in the trees or running out of fairway on the other side.
Highly recommended, especially if you have a day to spend the £28 asking price is an absolute bargain.
